The last 25 years there has been an incidence of cancer among all ages and genders around 45%. (Cijfersenkanker.nl2021). By the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) it is estimated that most of the common cancers is caused by environmental factors (including lifestyle), and therefore, in principle, can be prevented. Elkana Waarsenburg, general physician and palliative care specialist, is the initiator and project coordinator of a lifestyle project for oncology patients in a large health care clinic in the Netherlands, Assen.
