I am also called on to intervene with students experiencing academic, behavior, or social/emotional difficulties that do not qualify for special education services. I work closely with key players to implement interventions and accommodations, monitor their effectiveness, and determine next steps. As a member of the educational team, for any student, it is my goal to help assure that all students have access to the supports they need to close the gap and be successful students and learners. As a member of the district RTI committee and co-chair of my building’s RTI committee I am actively involved in the development and implementation of a Response to Intervention model at the middle school, as well as, throughout the district. In this role I am I responsible for providing professional development for school staff and teachers, analyzing universal screening data, developing interventions for easy use in all classrooms, and consulting with staff regarding progress monitoring. It is my goal that all school staff members will learn and understand the RTI model as well as its importance and usefulness in meeting the needs of all students.
