Mid-weight designer at a small studio, working closely alongside the Director which has boosted my knowledge and understanding in all CS6 programs and print processes. Liquid produces creative retail packaging for drinks gifting within the FMCG industry and I focused mainly on this side of the workload, taking direct briefs from clients such as BHS and Tesco for branded and private label projects. By researching and forecasting trends for the year ahead and then producing my own innovative designs and driving them forward, I have been able to see my own ideas through to the end and make key decisions with design direction and packaging formats. Other duties included: researching new trends, liaising directly with printers, working alongside carton suppliers to create innovative formats and reduce waste packaging, web based projects such as banners and ads, in-store POS, branding, creating pitches, working with brands to achieve the best out of their guidelines, artworking files, artwork coordination, uploading artwork for print production and repro. Clients included BHS, Lindt, Morrisons, Wolf Blass, Sainsburys, Blossom Hill and Tesco. Show less

  • Kinnerton Confectionery Co Ltd

    • Junior Graphic Designer
      • Sep 2010 - Aug 2012

As Britain's largest manufacturer of chocolate and novelty confectionery, Kinnerton produces private label and bespoke confectionery for some of the largest retailers as well as many famous brands. This role required me to deliver creative packaging and presentation solutions for a mixture of private and licensed projects within the FMCG industry. Work varied from corporate to illustrative to branded packaging. Working closely with Product Developers allowed me to voice opinions and new ideas, whilst dealing with the Far East and Packaging teams broadened my knowledge of print limitations and functionality of design. Close contact with the marketing and sales teams nurtured my understanding of client needs and the importance of following current market trends. Other duties included: Leading photoshoots, assisting the senior designer in producing seasonal brochures, re-touching images, liaising with licensors about design direction, working with and briefing freelance illustrators and photographers, rebranding, helping to create pitches, working to brand guidelines and a basic understanding of artworking and repro. Clients included: M&S, Tesco, Sainsburys, Kinnerton own label, Lir and Diagio. Show less
