Operations Manager and Garden Designer
-
Dec 2019 - Sep 2022
I ran operations and lead business development for ACS Management. I was the lead garden designer for all our clients. As Operations Manager my responsibilities covered scheduling and booking of projects, quoting and sales, sourcing and ordering of materials and invoicing of clients. I also ran the garden maintenance business line, organising all regular maintenance work and advising clients on their garden care. As lead garden designer I oversaw all client relations and design work for our design clients, specialising in large garden projects. I also created bespoke designs for everything from small, urban gardens to the design and installation of a nine-acre private arboretum including planting over 150 mature specimen trees. I have extensive plant knowledge and good relationships with nurseries and suppliers across Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex. In both roles I substantially increased the size of our client base, finding new maintenance clients and design clients providing both long-term repeat business as well as high value individual projects. I have a high success rate for converting design clients into long term maintenance clients. As main point of contact for all clients, excellent communication skills and forming strong client relationships was a fundamental aspect of my role. I have managerial experience across both roles and I managed a team of up to six landscapers. Show less

Retail Sales Supervisor and Duty Manager
-
Feb 2015 - Dec 2019
At Garden Style I was initially responsible for trade sales and establishing relationships with new trade customers. The other main aspect of my role was to conduct site visits for the Garden Consultation Service to provide bespoke advise to retail clients. Over five years I transformed the business line to become a significant driver of revenue and generator of clients for our planting service. I was promoted to Retail Sale Supervisor and Duty Manager to manage a growing retail sales team. This was a customer facing position, requiring excellent customer services skills in person and via email and phone. Another aspect of my role was sourcing plants from nurseries in Italy. I participated in two buying trips to Tuscany and was responsible for selecting plants for general stock and for my clients. Show less

Sales Person
-
May 2014 - Dec 2014
I joined Architectural Plants as temporary cover. I was brought in to assist the sales team and increase sales volumes. I designed gardens and liaised with the planting team. I was responsible for maintaining and enhancing trade customer relationships as well as to providing advice and sales to retail customers. My attention to detail led me to enhance the quality of the nursery and customer areas by checking the health and quality of the stock, the availability of information for the customer and the cleanliness of the nursery.
