Since completing my Social Science degree and through using my experience and knowledge gained from the time I have worked at GenderGP, I decided it was time to move into the patient well-being area of GenderGP. This is an area I have always wanted to work my way towards. Through out this new role, I lead one-on-one sessions with our patients to find out how they are doing both physically and mentally and to ensure that we as a service are keeping in check with our amazing patients and maintaining that personal communication with them.I also lead one-on-one sessions with new patients who are wanting to find out more about us, about the services and care we offer and to just provide them with that reassurance when it comes to entering this new chapter in their lives/journey. May 2018 - Jun 2022
I have been working at GenderGP for just over 3 years, throughout this time I have started off by doing basic admin jobs, such as, creating letters or creating task related documents or spreadsheets. As time has gone on, I have worked my way up by developing on my admin skills and also on my communication skills when it comes to speaking to and working with patients and other work colleagues. I have gone from working on basic admin tasks to becoming a pathway/administrator and finance specialist, this role entails: - Providing excellent customer service.- Extensive administration work, including preparing and editing letters, reports, memos, and emails. - Arranging meetings and appointments and maintaining folders and online data bases on cloud based services. - Specialising in tasks around customer finance, including, handling refunds, disputes and payment requests. Also using financial systems, such as, Quickbooks, Stripe and Chargedesk. - Managing and training other colleagues. - Leading online video sessions with customers/colleagues.- Working with different systems, such as, Cognito and Simply Book.By working here, it has allowed me to express how passionate I am about the LGBTQ+ community and it has also been a way for me to help contribute to this community and do my part to make trans health care more widely available to those not as fortunate as others.
