I love working with Elizabeth! She’s got great leadership skills. As her direct report, I appreciate how we collaborate and brainstorm together on ideas for each of our roles. She’s very receptive to new ideas, thoroughly reviews details and I especially love the way she communicates. Her writing is conversational without being lengthy. Her communication is honest and direct. She teaches and mentors me to help me grow professionally, too. She challenges me to think outside of the box. Elizabeth has a wonderful way of building and nurturing strong relationships. She shares stories from KCU that benefit goals of various media with public interests in mind. She makes a point to be a kind and good person and cares strongly about helping the community and people in need. She makes a point to care about those she works with and truly takes interests in others and their thoughts. She’s always willing to lend a hand and offers up ways to help projects be the most successful. I’m grateful to work with Elizabeth and I’m glad to have her as my supervisor and mentor.

Elizabeth is not only an exceptional director of public affairs, she is an exceptional human being! Her list of professional accomplishments is long, and I was fortunate to work with her directly as she adroitly managed media relations, public affairs, and social media at KCU, finding innovative ways to tell complex stories and gaining friends and admirers along the way. In addition, Elizabeth is a well-known civic and community leader, reinforcing her public affairs role and giving her insight as a gifted story teller.

My news career took me from Fort Smith, AR, to the Quad Cities, West Palm Beach and back home to Kansas City. During my years in TV news I learned the art of storytelling that is so important in all areas of business today. Television news taught me to be quick, accurate and accountable. And it gave me the tremendous opportunity to create change in the community. My news career took me from Fort Smith, AR, to the Quad Cities, West Palm Beach and back home to Kansas City.
