During my time as a student I was captain of the ladies Gaelic Football team at Glasgow University. I thoroughly enjoyed this role which required me to be very proactive at many administrative tasks throughout the season, while also being present for each committee meeting, match and training session. This role taught me many valuable skills such as team management, effective communication and time management skills which are all transferable to other working environments.

I joined the mooting society when I began studying at the University of Glasgow and I took the first opportunity to become involved in the society when I was offered the position of clerk at the Sir Alexander Stone Mooting Competition, Judged by Advocate David Adams from Compass Chambers. This was a very valuable opportunity for me as I became aware of the inner works of the court during a moot and began to familiarize myself with the different ways to address the court and how to conduct oneself in that environment. Being an active member of the mooting society has allowed me to become more knowledgeable about legal debates and key issues and it has inspired me to pursue a career as a barrister. Show less
