I was selected as a student representative for my course during both my second and third years at university. This job involves relaying any course-related issues from my peers to lecturers and course administrators, as well as attending workshops on how to improve my course and the school of Arts, Languages and Cultures in general. In February 2018 I was selected to attend a meeting between a small number of student representatives and the university Board of Directors, in order to give them our thoughts on the issues present at the University and the direction we think the University should be looking to in the future. The other students selected represented the faculties of Medicine, Nursing, Sciences and Engineering. This was the first time that such a meeting had been held at the University.
