As part of the Year Abroad during my Undergraduate degree, I worked in Madrid as a teacher's assistant for the Infantil 1 class (equivalent to reception in UK) for five months. I led classroom learning and recreational activities that encouraged the students to communicate in English. I also worked alongside my two co-teachers to plan and develop a teaching curriculum that was specific to each child’s individual abilities and learning styles. At the end of the placement, I was awarded full marks in the teacher's assessment.

As part of a WorkAway summer program, I assisted at a family-run sports and activity centre, which involved helping with the maintenance of the house (looking after the animals, waitressing at the cafe, general house and garden maintenance), and also helping to look after children and lead sporting excursions for visiting groups.
