My responsibilities as a keyboarding clerk for the Burlington County Jail included processing new commits for both the New Jersey inmate system and the Burlington County jail system. When entering these new commits into the system, it was my obligation to review the warrants that the detainee brought with him or her and then make the appropriate phone calls to request the detainee's release or detention on the charges against him or her. As soon as the inmate's commitment was finalized, I was then responsible for filing away all court documents related to that individual, contacting other counties to request RORs or pickup dates, and lastly releasing the offender from both systems while obtaining whatever signatures and data of the inmate that was required prior to his or her release. One of my responsibilities as a Rutgers CSO is to act as the police department’s eyes and ears. I am responsible for ensuring that the Rutgers campus is a safe community for all university personnel and faculty. As a CSO officer, among other things, I am responsible for escorting students and staff, patrolling crowded streets for safety, and completing security checks at all academic and sporting events. This employment honed my people skills by aiding the general public and the Rutgers Police Department, as well as teaching me time management by balancing my work and schoolwork. Show less

My responsibilities as a teacher’s aide for Gloucester County Special Services included assisting students who qualified for extra help with their studies. This includes bringing children into testing facilities and assisting them in getting a better grade by discussing the topic at hand in greater depth and clearing up any uncertainty that may have arisen when completing tasks. This job taught me patience and how to adjust to various scenarios involving the various types of assistance required by my various students. Show less
