    • Director/CEO
      • Jan 2001 - Dec 2009

Director (CEO) of Wales wide charity established to develop young people’s personal development through access to quality information services, particularly within digital environments. In addition to the chief executive function the role has been to design, develop and implement strategic ICT enabled business transformation initiatives for youth and community organisations and SMEs, working across the public, voluntary and private sectors. The role involved managing a number of projects (including strategic Welsh (Assembly) Government and Wales European Funding Office funded ones) from conception to completion, working to budgets circa £25m. The role has required sophisticated business project management skills to plan initiatives, specify requirements as well as draw in necessary investment from both private and public sectors before implementation. One example of such work is the Credu, social inclusion, initiative that secured £6m+ from the private sector (as well as £6m from local public sector and £12m from Europe), 112 digilabs developed with over 40,000 individuals supported and the initiative also developed employment for over 450 young people and facilitated over 8 million website hits during the life of the project. The initiative successfully delivered the accredited Fujitsu Cyberskills ICT training programme to youth workers and young people at all venues. Show less
