curator contemporary and modern art

Sep 2007 - Mar 2020
Being curator of the Stedelijk Museum 's-Hertogenbosch my specific field was the development and organisation of innovatory exhibition concepts in the field of contemporary art, including all media like painting, drawing, video, photography, sculpture and installations. A specific line I started up is that of the artist/designer as spider in it's own web, as guest curator of it's own network of inspirations, including all possible disciplines and fields of life and reality in general. As curator of the Design Museum Den Bosch my last project was the large retrospective of Jean Cocteau, a.o. poet, writer, visual artist, playwright, scenographist, film director. Show less

yoga teacher
-
Mar 2011 - Mar 2016
I did my yoga teacher education for four years at De Blikopener, Centre for Hatha and raja yoga, Tilburg and one year at Saswitha, Institute for yoga and philosophy, Bilthoven. I've been combing art and yoga in several museum exhibitions and had a studio of my own next to my work in the museum. Five years of study and five years of teaching all together were a beautiful project. curator contemporary art

1990 - 2007
As curator in De Beyerd, municipal centre for contempory art, Breda, the first ten years I worked part time in the field of communication and organized the studium generale program next to the exhibitions. After a sabattical in 1999-2000 I returned as full time exhibitions curator, responsible for the organization of the majority of the exhibitions until it's closure in 2006. Afterwards I prepared an exhibition program for the new Graphic Design Museum in the reconstructed and enlarged old Beyerd building, that was about to (re)open in 2008, in the crossover field of graphic design versus contemporary art and visual culture.
