I'm very proud to have worked on a project to help the City of Moab develop its new RAP tax program. Together with the team of 7 individuals I managed, I built an application and review process for Moab's RAP Tax Grant as well as recommended best practices for structuring a committee in charge of distributing $320,000. One of my favorite things about interning at One Refugee was being able to work on a variety of projects. I drafted email newsletters to educate over 300 students with refugee backgrounds about career development opportunities. Using data analytics, I produced infographics to be shared with potential partners upon introductory conduct. And as a member of the social media team, I helped systemize marketing efforts on various platforms and increase 1R's reach by 3.1% within 3 months. Along with five other MPA student volunteers, I developed Living Alive's (1) board induction packet, (2) donor/gifts packet, and (3) financial manual & templates. These documents and tools are crucial and foundational for newly established nonprofits to comply with required rules and laws as well as implement effective financial management and donor cultivation within the organization. With a team of seven BYU MPA student volunteers, I performed a program evaluation of the nonprofit organization known as One Refugee. They help students with refugee backgrounds receive a college education and form a sense of belonging in their new-to-them communities. We developed a survey and a logic model to help communicate and measure One Refugee's mission goals and outcomes. • German Teacher
      • Sep 2019 - Jun 2020

Germany and the German language are a part of who I am, so teaching dual-language immersion courses at Summit Academy to over 60 elementary and junior high school students (grade 1 through 7) allowed me to have a little piece of home in Utah. Some of my duties included customizing teaching strategies for varied student learning approaches and training students to shift mental language from their native language to German when entering a specific classroom.

A highlight of my professional dance experience is working for Dance Engine, a company that “explores the use of mobile devices as a method to connect an audience to a live performance.” My responsibilities included giving quick 30-second trainings to audience members on how to use the provided mobile devices and improvising all my movement and actions in response to audience suggestions. I loved working for the Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company (WCDC) because I was trusted to balance various different roles that required me to enhance the following skills: teaching, collaborating, creative problem solving, choreographing, and performing. WCDC is a nonprofit organization and professional performance company that strives to strengthen community engagement through their stimulating productions, educational outreach programs, and collaborations with artists of all fields. My responsibilities included the following: *teaching workshop dance classes, company technique classes, and free children's dance classes at the local libraries *collaborating with various local and international choreographers to bring to life their artistic vision through movement and teamwork *choreographing various sections of “Light and Color,” a complete immersive dance show with approximately 20 dancers at the Woodbury Art Museum *learning and performing works such as Angela Banchero-Kelleher’s "Fanfare for the Common Man," Eric Handman’s "Permanent Now," and Jake Casey’s "Pop" Show less

I choreographed the Orem High Dance Company's submission to the Utah Shakespeare Festival: a 4-minute composition for approximately 20 dancers titled, "Juliet Wakes." It won 4th place at the competition. My responsibilities included creating and teaching the choreography and training dancers on performance and technical movement skills. Younique shares my eagerness to uplift, empower, and validate women and promote their personal growth. Younique did so through high quality make-up products that promote inner and outer beauty and by providing women opportunities to create their own businesses by building social media networks and selling first-rate make-up products. During my time at Younique I managed emails and chats from clientele and assisted their needs, corresponded with English- and German-speaking customers regarding cosmetic orders and business accounts, and translated English email content to German. • Research Assistant (German Department Chair)
      • Jan 2015 - May 2018

My position as a research assistant for the BYU German Department Chair, Dr. Michelle James, was a significant experience during my undergraduate studies not only because it funded all of my grocery expenses as a poor college student, but also because my responsibilities taught me organizational, technological, and communication skills. Dr. James engaged in research concerning German female authors in the 18th and 19th centuries. My duties included transcribing, translating, and editing historical German documents to be included in Dr. James' book of compiled works by German female authors of the aforementioned centuries, as well as formatting and editing documents to be uploaded on her user-friendly website. • Teaching Assistant (Dance History)
      • Jan 2018 - Apr 2018

Being a teaching assistant for the dance history course at BYU was one of two significant jobs I had while getting my undergraduate degree. I strengthened my management skills through organizing data regarding class schedules and homework assignments, answering students questions both in person and via email, and evaluating and grading student homework submissions.
