      MUDA - Movement for an Universal and Digitally Active citizenship aims to reduce the number of citizens who have never accessed the internet in Portuga and to increase the number of citizens with more than basic digital skills in 2020. MUDA was launched in May 2017 with the financing provided by 12 of the largest companies in Portugal and after its first year of activity has a strong sustainability base including the support of more than 30 organizations including companies, universities, media and the Portuguese Government. This is a unique initiative that bring together the Portuguese private sector and civil society, as well as the Portuguese Public Administration. It also noteworthy that MUDA promoters are also competitors within their markets but cooperate to make Portugal a more advanced, inclusive and participative country. More than 2,5 million Portuguese citizens were impacted by MUDA in its last 2 years of activity due to MUDA’s go-to-market unique strategy: the level of direct engagement and communication with citizens thru TV programs, national roadshows and young volunteers ensure that a significant part of the population that need to improve digital skills is in fact strongly impacted.
