Elisa and I studied together at the University of Turin, where we obtained a master's degree in Medical Biotechnology. In this period Elisa has proved extremely collaborative and expert. She has always had efficient strategies and has always been very good at presenting her ideas. I learned a lot from her even outside of our common experience. Elisa is an extremely competent and prepared resource who would represent an added value for any company.

I had the pleasure to work in the same department with Elisa for more than 4 years. Elisa is charismatic and very experienced scientist. She is also very easy to communicate with because she can really navigate several diverse fields of research, she knows many different laboratory techniques, and she is a very helpful colleague who happily shares her knowledge and experience and engages in discussions of projects. These traits make her a great resource for a team! Very importantly, Elisa is a very nice person. Not to mention that she is a great cook!

Working in Jørgen Wesche's "Molecular Biology of Sarcomas" Research group. My main project aims at understanding the role of oncogenic mutations of FGFR4 in Rhabdomyosarcoma, by discovering signalling determinants affecting proliferation and migration. During this project I have: § Conceived, troubleshooted and analyzed quantitative proteomics studies (BioID pull down, sample preparation for LC-MS/MS) to discover FGFR4 oncogenic signaling partners in Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS). § Collaborated with Proteomic experts (Proteomics Core Facility - OUS) in the identification of FGF-induced phosphorylations of signaling proteins. § Collaborated with Genomic experts and bioinformaticians for analysis and critical interpretation of RNA-seq and Exome-seq data § Characterized FGFR4 regulation through cell surface labelling and internalization, confocal imaging and protein-protein interaction (IP) analyses. § Successfully achieved stable expression of engineered proteins by designing and optimizing DNA cloning, point mutagenesis and cell transfections in cancer cell lines. § Profiled oncogenic addition and in vitro drug sensitivity by analysis of viability (MTS), proliferation, adhesion and migration (IncuCyte and ImageJ) upon RNAi and pharmacological treatment in RMS cells. § Promoted the fame of the team by presenting in an international meeting, collaborating on one published paper and writing 2 first-author manuscripts. § Taken active leadership in the organization of seminars and networking events improving collaborations, social interaction and career development of fellow researchers (ICR Post-doc forum and lab retreat). Working in Toni Hurtado's "Breast Cancer" Research group on the functional characterisation of CTCF and FOXA1 transcription factors in breast and endometrial cancer models. § Effectively managed multiple research projects investigating Estrogen dependent gene regulation and the genomic effects of growth factor signaling on breast cancer endocrine therapy response. § Extensive hands-on expertise on various genomic methods (ChIP, FAIRE, DNA and RNA isolations and qPCR). § Successfully generated NGS DNA libraries and performed bioinformatic analyses to profile genome-wide protein-chromatin binding (ChIP-seq) and chromatin accessibility (FAIRE-seq) in breast cancer cell lines. § Collaborated with a bioinformatic team to elucidate SNP variant effects on mRNA expression, chromatin landscape and breast cancer prognosis. § Gained supervision experience by training one Master’s student for cell lab procedures and bioinformatics. § Contributed to the success of the team with an oral presentation in an international meeting, a “Best poster” award at an international course, 3 publications as main author and 2 papers as co-author. Working in Paola Defilippi's and Sara Cabodi's research group, under the supervision of Pilar Camacho-Leal. My main project elucidated the interplay between p130Cas and Estrogen Receptor in branching morphogenesis by using ex vivo organotypic culture from mouse mammary gland. Here I have: § Introduced in the lab the isolation and ex vivo 3D culture of primary mammary organoids from mice to study adult mammary gland development and breast cancer cell biology. § Developed 3D immunofluorescence and western blot protocols to describe different histological phenotypes and their signaling. Expertise with staining for flow cytometry (FACS) to describe epithelial cell populations. § Contributed to the generation of conditional knock-out mice by collecting and PCR genotyping samples from different organs; kept accurate record of animals used for in vivo and ex vivo studies.
