As an assistant psychologist in NHS, this experience gave me remarkable insight for the NHS system and techniques. Several different options for people to help them with recoveries such as one-to-one stepped psychology interventions, psychotherapy, CBT interventions, and group therapies were provided and I played an important role in running those weekly group therapies. I learned how and when to write progress notes, how to do screening calls, how to talk with the other person during the crisis, how to work with suicidial or unwanted thoughts, and last but not least how to apply the prevention techniques into those unwanted thoughts and difficulties, such as breathing exercises, relaxation activities, some techniques such as self-soothing. I gained a plethora of experiences during this process with Mentalift team. First, we are trained for 6 months and then did our internships and got supervision about our internships.
