      - Conducted independent research for master’s thesis titled “Hermanos del Rey (Brothers of the King): Explaining Mestizo Solidarity and Coalition Building in Nicaragua’s Miskitu Secessionist Movement”. - Interviewed the 5 mestizo activist allied with of the indigenous Miskitu secessionist group called “Hermanos del Rey”; a group whose ethnic identity and geographic location deviated from previous documentation of the Miskitian secessionist activity. - Used qualitative data from semi-structured interviews and participant observation with local NGO officers, secondary literature, and 6 expert interviews to construct a preliminary explanatory framework for the coalition between the mestizos activist group and the Miskitu secessionist movement. - Awarded Outstanding Thesis 2018 Show less
