Ph.D. project: development of bioinspired copper-based complexes for catalytic purposes Supervisors: Jean-Marc Latour, Lionel Dubois During my Ph.D I worked on the development of new bioinspired copper complexes for using them as catalysts. I worked on synthesis of organic ligands and metal complexes and then I characterized the obtained product by spectroscopic (NMR, UV-vis spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy, EPR) and electrochemical (CV, RDE, coulometry) techniques. I tested the obtained copper complexes as catalysts for nitrene transfer reactions. I worked both on optimization of the catalysis conditions and mechanistic studies. Technical Skills: - Organic synthesis - Inorganic synthesis - Catalysis - NMR spectroscopy, - UV-vis spectroscopy, - Mass spectroscopy - Electrochemistry - EPR spectroscopy Online thesis (English): http://www.theses.fr/2017GREAV068 Show less

Master internship project: Chiral dinuclear copper complexes as biomimetic models of tyrosinase: synthesis and study of catalytic activity in the oxidation of chiral cathechols and prochiral sulfides.Supervisor: Luigi CasellaDuring my internship at the end of the M. Sc in Chemistry I collaborated to the development of a new biomimetic copper complex which is capable of performing the oxidation of catechols and phenols mimicking the activity of the enzyme tyrosinase. I collaborated to the synthesis of the chiral ligand and its binuclear complex, then I tested the kinetic performance of the catalyst, focusing on its capability of differentiate chiral substrates. Skills:- Organic synthesis- Inorganic synthesis- Kinetic studies through Uv-vis spectroscopy- HPLC analysis Show less
