      • Jan 2022 - May 2022

I served as a liaison between student volunteers, members of the community, and full-time staff. I organize groups of about 6-8 volunteers and prepare them for their meetings and debrief afterward. Any concerns or questions were then taken to Member-Advocate Coordination Meetings, which were used to synthesize information about how the office was run and set a tone and standard for office culture.

      • Jan 2021 - May 2022

As a volunteer, I work with members of the community on issues they are facing that they request assistance with. The topics of these meetings can range from applying for a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher to searching for jobs in the area. I work alongside one other person in each of these meetings, and I volunteer here twice a week. I employed the tenants of trauma-informed care and person-centered approaches while coaching members.

Through the Honors College at UNC-Chapel Hill, I taught the 1-credit hour, Pass/Fail course entitled "SPCL 400.307: Gender Relations in South Korea." I created a syllabus for 14 weeks of class content and spent one semester teaching this course to 7 of my peers. Students were asked to draw historical connections, think critically about the influence of the United States in Korean politics, and to consider the tactics of feminist organizers in South Korea. • Feb 2021 - May 2021

The Humanities Futures Fellowship is a fellowship for undergraduate students in the humanities to further their understanding and appreciation for the field. I worked alongside seven other fellows to help create student-centered roundtable discussions for the 2021 Black Communities Conference. In particular, we worked to creatively engage our fellow students concerning topics such as the Black commons, Black businesses and economic freedom, and performative activism. • Mar 2020 - Mar 2021

As Co-Director of Outreach, I assisted in the facilitation of community engagement on behalf of the Student Executive Board. One way I did this was by planning a screening of the film "Silence Sam," a documentary created by former Carolina students concerning the attempts to bring down the Confederate Statue at our university. In conjunction, I coordinated a panel discussion of current Black activists at Carolina to discuss the future of anti-racist activism. We were able to have almost 100 people sign up for this event! My other duties included weekly executive board meetings where we worked together to represent the best interests of the students involved in the Campus Y. • Creating University-Born Entrepreneurs (CUBE) Intern
      • May 2019 - Aug 2020

As an intern, I worked on all outward-facing aspects of CUBE. One of my main projects was the development of a 10-module course about social entrepreneurship to coach our new student ventures. These modules included information on the creation of a Minimum Viable Product, as well as international community engagement. Additionally, I worked to choose recipients for the Kenan-Biddle Grant, a collaboration between UNC and Duke. I sat in on interviews and pitches and managed email communication with the grant recipients. Afterward, I was responsible for managing the budget sheets to keep track of allocations of funds, and to contribute to the write up for the annual report. Show less
