I was employed to work at university open days and university inspiration days. Working at these gave me experience of leading groups of potential university candidates and parents. I also ran an inspiration day where I taught groups of teenagers about stem cells and had to keep them interested and plan activities and games to enable their understanding of a topic they had never heard of before. Algadisk conference
-
Nov 2014 - Nov 2014
This was a great opportunity where I learnt about the issues of human expansion, lack of food and need for alternative fuels. It was also interesting seeing how projects do not always have the outcome that are predicted and that technologies constantly need to be tested and improved in order to succeed. The trip helped improve my planning and organisational skills and professionalism. Enalgae Project

Oct 2014 - Oct 2014
I attended the Cultivation, Harvesting, Downstream Processing and Product development from Microbial Biomass Conference. It was interesting to see large scale methods of algal growth, filtering and drying, as well as to hear about current plans and ideas, and to meet the scientist working on the project.
