  In my role at Dods I undertook research on the Civil Service and its institutions, and worked with a small team to keep clients abreast of developments in Whitehall and Brussels. I managed a complex database of over 5000 senior civil servants, and helped to produce organisation charts, weekly newsletters, as well as publications such as Dods Parliamentary Companion and Vacher’s Quarterly.   In April 2014 I was selected from over 300 applicants as one of 25 UK Youth Ambassadors for the international anti-poverty advocacy group ONE. This role involved lobbying decision makers at both the UK and European Parliaments concerning policy issues relating to anti-corruption, fighting poverty and advocating informed policy towards international aid. During our campaign surrounding the May election to the European Parliament, we coordinated nationally to persuade parliamentary candidates, and later the elected MEPs, to sign our pledge and commit to using their office to help in the fight against global poverty. We had immense success, with over half of the new parliament supporting our campaign, ensuring its entrenchment for another five years. I gained experience in working efficiently, professionally, and to strict deadlines, while remaining a communicative, fun and friendly team player. Show less

  I volunteered for three days at the Indigenous Peoples' Centre for Documentation and Research (DoCip) at their technical secretariat at the 27th session of the UN Human Rights Council. This involved general office duties such as photocopying, proof reading translated documents, and attending meetings, as well as allowing me the humbling opportunity to attend plenary sessions of the Human Rights Council.
