Team leader of the Employment and Discrimination Service, conducting interviews with clients in order to gather information about their case and provide the solicitor with this. It was invaluable experience to head the team and develop my legal skills alongside leadership and teamwork. I greatly enjoyed supporting clients emotionally while they were going through a daunting and worrying experience. I completed a three-day vacation scheme with the firm during which I sat with the Family, Corporate and Commercial and Commercial Property teams. Despite the experience being held virtually, I thoroughly enjoyed the week and gained a great insight into the firm and invaluable experience. I was lucky enough to be accepted back to QBE for a second week of work experience. This time I got involved with drafting and editing Notices of Change, Confidentiality Agreements and sat in multiple meetings which was invaluable for broadening my understanding and engagement with Insurance Law. I was also extremely fortunate to visit Lloyd’s of London and sit in a box with IP underwriters. I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated both weeks.
