Elana Eyal is someone you want on your team. As the Vice-Chair of the Israel Ride and the lay leader responsible for participant outreach, I had the pleasure of working with Elana from May, 2022, when she joined the Israel Ride team at Hazon, until January 2023, when the Israel Ride’s partnership with Hazon ended. Elana made a noticeable impact from the time she joined the team, as our social media presence improved dramatically, and riders and potential riders shared glowing feedback about how helpful, responsive, and engaging she was. This was a marked improvement, in a very difficult time, due to COVID related challenges and the fact that Elana was new to the organization. In this respect, she came up to speed in the position faster than anyone that I’ve known in over a decade as a lay leader on the ride. But great responsiveness and service wasn’t Elana’s biggest contribution to the ride. In her first couple of months on the job, Elana joined all the weekly planning and leadership calls for the ride. At first, as she was gathering information and learning more of the details and complexity of the actual event, she was a quiet participant in the calls. That belied the depth that she would bring to the leadership as her knowledge and confidence developed. Within six months, she was an active participant, bringing new insights, practical advice, and creative solutions to the discussion. These all came to bear on the success of the 2022 Israel Ride, where Elana was an integral contributor to the leadership of the entire event. Finally, Elana is a team player. As she was coming up to speed, Elana was proactive in reaching out to others who could bring insight and experience to her work. On an ongoing basis, while her leadership and contributions were clear, she tended to play them down. Instead, she shared credit wherever possible and always looked to build and support the team. The relationship ended when the ride’s partnership with Hazon came to a close. While she worked on the ride for less than two years, her impact and contribution are indelible. As I said, Elana is someone you want on your team. Any team that she leads, or is a part of, will be stronger and more successful for her presence.

Elana trained me when I entered a new position at HomeBiogas, and she was a wonderful mentor throughout my time at the company. She is patient, intelligent, organized and always ensures the best outcome for as many people as possible in a situation. She has a lot of integrity and ethical standards, and truly cares about her work. She will always do her best, no matter how challenging the circumstance is. I highly recommend Elana for any team.
