In 2011 I set up DESIGNATE – Housing Adaptations Interior Design & Colour Consultancy to focus on Inclusive Interior Design, and to promote dignity in disability. I regularly work with Personal Injury Lawyers and Case Managers where clients have interim or final payment awards, GPs, Architects, Businesses, Housing providers and Product manufacturers. I work with clients across a range of Inclusive Interior Design projects related to buildings and products in the Domestic and Commercial sectors. My aim is to enable people of all age groups, who are well or have minor and major health conditions, to achieve and enjoy aspirational 21st century Living. I incorporate specialist health needs ‘invisibly’ within a general Interior Design project, creating a Wow factor and making functional fabulous. I also work with Companies who manufacture disability-specific products and companies that have a product that may be suitable for use by people with and without disabilities. By advising them on aesthetics, design and function they have seen sales soar. An example client is Impey Showers Ltd where I have advised them on the design and marketing of their Impey Slimfold shower seat I run workshops and focus groups on Inclusive Interior Design for Professional groups. I also give presentations to Local Authorities and I am a regular Speaker at NAIDEX . If you would like to get more involved, please get in touch. .
