  My role within the practice involves mainly with the preparation of end of year and interim management accounts for a wide range of clients, the majority including those within a group structure. On a daily basis, I utilise the accounting software; Sage, Xero and Quickbooks to support clients with the preparation of their financial statements. I enjoy the challenge of the complex clients, and in particular the 'lightbulb moments' when the challenges are achieved. I can also identify the gaps in the client processes to ensure their work practices are seamless and to constantly improve their bookkeeping system. As well as the challenges, I very much enjoy the variety of the clients, and the nature of my work load is different every day, keeping my brain active and constantly stimulated.   I worked within the Haulage Industry for fifteen years, prior to going into Accountancy practice. The variety of work involved within industry helped me greatly with the transition to practice. Within this role, I was able to create and complete monthly management accounts to a timely manner, by processing accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts, purchase, and sales ledger, and variance reporting of nominal codes as per needs. Being able to keep to strict deadlines, I was able to create weekly profit and loss accounts on the fleet of 70 trucks, which increased to 100 vehicles. Show less
