This Particular role lent itself to three main areasPurchasing SystemsThe trust was embarking on the implementation of an eProcurement system as the Systems Manager I was tasked with•Testing the system & liaising with contractors/ consultants to ensure full compliance •Contacting supplier to enable the creation of a Trust catalogue. This was to be continued indefinitely after rollout to ensure pricing and product information is accurate.•Staged training all Trust requisitioners, authorisers, and purchasing staff to enable the switch off of the old system. Again continued indefinitely after rollout to accommodate new users across the system & management spectrum.•Liaising with users, Directorate managers, Budget Holders, Finance and the IM&T Department as required, ensuring the continuing satisfactory operation of the system and procedures.•Producing & updating user guides and supporting all levels of system users.•Liaising with purchasing software provider(s) on behalf of the Trust regarding maintenance and development of the system.•Provide assistance to customers in the control of expenditure through the provision of purchasing management information. •Managing all third party systems which either interfaced or impacted on purchasing.Operational Purchasing•Train, advise and support the Operational Buying Team on operational and technical matters.•Assist in the provision of supplier / spend information to budget holders and other customers.•In maintaining supplier catalogues •Provide assistance to staff on the control of expenditure through the provision of the management information. Tenders and Contracts•Engage and influence key stakeholders at all levels within the Trust•Be responsible for the evaluation and analysis on high value procurement exercises •Analyse, and advise the Trust on the most economically advantageous form of purchases •Advise the Trust on and update purchasing policies and procedures Show less
