      • Feb 2012 - Present

Since February 2012 I have been acting as the Manager for this social enterprise membership network. The position has given me an insight of running a small social enterprise at time of immense change for the organisation. Managing SEEE requires a variety of tasks from project management on key issues and developments (such as e-newsletter, events, CRM system and the In Touch with Social Enterprise Magazine); gathering and disseminating information; building the membership base and reviewing the operating framework for SEEE to deliver excellent services to its members including building a new relationship with SEUK. Regular reporting and presentation to the SEEE Board is a critical part of this role. I also act as a point of contact for social enterprises that call into SEEE and offer them an empathetic ear and provide them with initial advice. I am able to refer them to the most relevant support and resources available locally and nationally as I have an excellent knowledge of the social enterprise sector. During 2013 I offered support and advice to two social enterprises as part of the CB2 programme. This involved meeting with the CEO’s, identifying what support was required, establishing an action plan and then providing telephone support to ensure actions were achieved as well as some hands on help.

      • Jan 2009 - Present

I work as a lecturer on social impact for ARU’s Higher Education Certificate in Charity and Social of Enterprise Management. I have written tenders/bids for Anglia Ruskin University and I have also undertaken several research projects including co –writing the Evaluation of the Cambridgeshire-wide Advicehub project this included interviewing Advicehub partners, establishing a questionnaire to collate information on soft outcomes for clients and analysing data. I also co-authored a research project looking into the achievements, weaknesses and potential future activities of two infrastructure networks, and also considered the impact on civil society organisations the economic downturn and the new public spending environment I have experience of using the Social Return on Investment (SROI) methodology to measure social value and impact. I have authored four reports that have passed to meet the SROI Network’s Assurance standard. A large part of the SROI analysis is establishing a consultation plan, consulting with stakeholders using various methods such as interviews and focus groups. The detailed nature of the analysis has developed my knowledge and understanding of social issues such as the needs of the elderly, employment and support needs of those with disabilities or additional needs and reducing the re-offending agenda.

I managed a small team to successfully implement and monitor sizeable European Social Funded projects. All projects entailed working with diverse partnership with representatives from both the public, private and third sector.
