Elaine and I worked together to create sustainable alternative transportation options for Boulder Zayo employees while I worked on Zayo's sustainability team. Elaine is passionate about her work and always has great ideas to engage and share information about sustainable transportation. One example was when she helped me with coordinating and engaging the Boulder Zayo employees to take part in Go-tober. Go-tober is a month long challenge for employees to telework or commute by bike, foot, transit, or carpool, competed with other companies in the Boulder area. Zayo got fourth place out of ~20 organizations that year and that wouldn't have happened without Elaines help. She also presented at a Lunch N Learn for our employees about sustainable alternative transportation solutions, and received great feedback. Thank you Elaine for all of your help!
John Waitman
Elaine is a creative, energetic child care provider. She takes time to get to know each child and their needs, and does her best to provide fun and unique experiences for them every day. She reads parenting books and brings that knowledge with her.

I assist companies with understanding and implementing transportation options for their workplace. From transit passes to van pools, pool bikes or bike share, we work at getting people around with fewer single occupant vehicle trips. As our area is exploring new opportunities for Bus Rapid Transit and electrification, my team and I have been at the table. We are helping to promote the best outcomes for BRT, new bikeways, and the move to electrifying vehicles. I've played a key role in seeing the improvements along CO 119 include a bus stop accessing businesses and residents in north Boulder as well as seeing the creation of a separated bikeway in the corridor. As interest is growing in the green hydrogen area, I've been in communication with the players in the area to help grow interest in this as a fresh option for area fleets. With new tax incentives in Colorado for businesses to provide commuting options, I've assured that this message is included in our outreach with local businesses. Show less

I enjoy applying my expertise in non-profit management as a director at Community Cycles. Recent projects have included long-term planning, grant applications, and assuring that we are following the mission of the organization to get more people on bikes. I regularly join teams doing outreach to inform the public about Community Cycles and our programs. My education experience helps to guide our summer camp programs. After serving on the board for many years, I was elected Vice President of the board in October 2016. On the advocacy committee, I take special interest in county and regional bike issues including the Lyons to Boulder Trail, the Longmont to Boulder Trail, and the county transportation plan. As a consultant to the City of Boulder, I perform annual review of pedestrian and bicycle crash data. I assisted with on time transit performance review. In 2014, I was a part of the team that organized the Boulder Walk and Bike Summit. For the Boulder Valley School District I consult on bicycle facilities and parking and in bike safety education for 4th and 5th graders. I quickly became the lead BLAST (Bicycle Lesson and Safety Training) Instructor. This involved being first contact person at participating schools and guiding the organizational flow as we managed a fleet of bicycles moving constantly between schools. Show less

Freelance writer, Audio Technician, Personal Assistant
-
2007 - Present
I'm available to work on projects small and large. As a writer, I contribute to the Falling Mountain Music blog. My work has appeared in print in the Boulder Daily Camera and the Colorado Daily. As part of the team with Tapes Again, I was on the recording team for the Conference on World Affairs for three years. We did quick turnaround on recording, editing and burning programs to disc. I'm familiar with a number of audio editing programs, including CoolEdit. Since 2012 I've been acting as administrative assistant for Studio Be Yoga. After showing success in managing the basic studio email account, I was asked to handle the registration for a yoga workshop. My organizational skills kept details together for students attending both locally and from afar as well as managing payments through PayPal and at the door. Beginning in 2014, I have taken on the responsibility of producing our newsletter and managing contacts through Constant Contact. Show less

Music Director
-
Jan 1999 - Apr 2006
I oversaw over 100 on-air volunteers. This included training of new DJs and coaching long term DJs on newer technologies. Weekly we received over 100 music submissions for broadcast and review. I scheduled and produced a weekly live music show. KGNU keeps a lively schedule of interviews and I was responsible for the scheduling of musicians as well as conducting many interviews with musicians, authors, and local experts. When I took on the job, I inherited an out of date playlist system and I immediately oversaw the revision of the playlist database to a system used for the following 12 years, which provided on-line access. As with all positions at KGNU, I took part in fundraising both on air and off. Show less
