Bio
Steve Bailey
Ejona was a student of mine in Retirement Planning at UMSL in the Fall of 2014 and Principles of Insurance and Risk Management in Fall 2015. Her work in the Retirement Planning class, which has a large group focus on building a retirement plan for a fictional DAM RR, was exemplary. She led the class in her organizing abilities and PowerPoint presentation skills. Her focus on detail in this confusing field (multiple plans, all with different Congressional genesis) helped all of us stay on focus. She was a solid negotiator for the time needed for students, not just her, to excel in their work, and she mediated any disputes between me and the class with flair and aplomb, making sure all voices were fully heard and understood. We had three great groups in that class because of her help engineering the broad outline I give to students. I give her my highest recommendation for diligence, thoughtfulness, caring and perseverance. The Insurance class was much larger and did not give all of these traits full display due to a different format I employ for this class. She remained one of the top students, but her leadership skills were not on as deep a display as with the smaller group (10 v. 32). I would be glad to discuss her great traits with anyone who wished to know more.
