I was funded by the Irish Research Council (IRC) Enterprise Partnership Scheme (EPS) in conjunction with NUI Galway and Plasticell Ltd (Stevenage, UK). Our work involves the investigation of mechanisms of bone-marrow mediated drug resistance in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).-Developing novel drug strategies to overcome bone marrow microenvironment mediated drug resistance.-Developed a novel 3D, hydrogel co-culture model to mimic the quiescent bone marrow microenvironment in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML)- Involved in novel high throughput (HT) drug screening- 3 years of experience as laboratory demonstrator and invigilator- Mentored and trained junior postgraduate students and undergraduate students- Good publication record for an early-stage researcher with experience in writing both research articles and literature reviews.
