I was hired as a geologist to support mine activities. Initially, my duties included the collection and processing of data (mapping, rock XRF analyses, grade control, water sampling). Later, as roles changed in the mine, I rose to a more senior role and I became more involved in mine planning and supervising. In this role, I used Datamine and GEMS. I was hired as a core logging geologist at the Podolsky Mine in Sudbury. I progressed to an underground production geologist, with mapping, drilling, interpretation and underground exploration duties. After the mine closed, I was transferred to technical services, where I worked as an exploration geologist at the Ajax project in Kamloops, BC. This role included core logging, modelling and geochemistry, essentially being done to evaluate the project for future development.
