I proofread and edit novels for the author Maggie Parker prepublication. I do this for her in my spare time when I am not working, at University or studying. This has enhanced my reading, writing and editing skills. I thoroughly enjoy doing this as it is different from what I usually read and study. This has considerably helped my time management skills and has taught me how to work efficiently and effectively. I proofread and edit novels for the author Maggie Parker prepublication. Working as a shift manager for Pizza Hut as my part-time job, whilst still studying at the University of Stirling has been rewarding for me and brilliant for improving my skills. This has firstly shown me the other sides of businesses and management that my degree has taught me, I am now able to see the practical side of my studies opposed to just reading about it. This has benefited me in this role as I am able to understand business strategy, the importance of profit maximisation and looking after employees as well as many other areas. It has taught me how to be a strong manager in the workplace and also taught me a lot about building good relationships with colleagues. It has also helped with my time management and professional conduct as well as my cash management and customer service skills. Show less

I was the Captain of the 4Xl Ladies hockey team for a year. This role involved organising matches, training times and the team as a whole. This was a challenging role as I had to work to organise a large group of girls to meet numerous times a week. I also had the role of choosing the coach for the team and attending committee meetings to discuss the best interests of the club whilst also advocating for the best interests of my team. I also had to work hard at keeping the team engaged and motivated. This required me to find a balance between being strict with training but also being approachable and making sure the game was rewarding and enjoyable. Show less

During my time at Camp Loyaltown I was a Horseback Instructor helping adults and children with additional needs participate in therapeutic riding. This was a true learning experience for me which taught me a lot about physical, mental and hidden disabilities. This taught me numerous skills including how to help make things more accessible and patience with all people. I am absolutely a better person for doing this.
