Aug 2018 - Present
Project Bread is a leading non-profit agency working to end hunger in Massachusetts by connecting residents with nutritious foods while advocating for polices that more easily provide access to food with dignity. As the organization’s Director of Development Operations, I built a robust team from scratch, all while keeping gift processing and acknowledgements functioning in real time. I developed a reconciliation program with our Finance team, drove the organization's database upgrade to Raiser's Edge NXT, developed systems that integrated the database with online donations and event registration systems, and launched an online grant application tool. In four years at Project Bread, I have grown my team to three associates who perform the daily Development Operations tasks, data clean-up, and fundraising team support. Harnessing business information systems, I automated routine tasks through Power Automate. Collaborating with the Assistant Director of Major Gifts, we launched a Prospect Research program used by our development professionals at all levels. On a rolling basis I continue to drive the strategic review and streamlining of development operations. Finally, I launched a data visualization program that is easily replicable, introducing a simple tool that offers insights into industry trends and real-time analysis of fundraising progress vs. statistical benchmarks. Campaign Chair ● Project Management ● Marketing Communication Strategy ● Data Analysis & Reporting
-
2014 - 2016
The mission of the NES Schoolyard Rebuild Campaign was to create a multi-generational schoolyard to bring local families together in new and creative ways. As Chairperson of the Campaign (Pro-Bono), I formed an 8-member steering committee to build a new playground at Newbury Elementary School and served as the primary liaison with the Town of Newbury and Triton School District, establishing intermediary team goals and ensuring successful completion in the desired time-frame. I supervised and created all fundraising strategies which raised $195K cash and over $50K in-kind services and gifts through direct mail, individual solicitations, social media and email campaigns. We developed creative campaigns, raising $10k through GoFundMe campaigns, the sale of engraved pavers and fence pickets, and ensured all donors were recognized. Other marketing strategies included communications to parents, solicitation and donor communications, the NES GROWS website and social media. I oversaw the planning and organizing of fundraising and community special events, which required additional marketing materials and strategies, ticket sales, entertainment and venues, and supervised volunteers. In addition, as Treasurer, I provided all accounting service & program analysis, including: ● Analysis and reporting of fundraising initiatives. ● Gift processing and donor acknowledgement. ● Managing grant program and solicitations; identifying potential funders and orchestrating ancillary fundraising. Finally, I oversaw all aspects of the project including the community build, managing a week-long volunteer build including tool & supply procurement and donations, equipment deliveries, meals for 150 volunteers, and sourcing of construction equipment/labor as necessary. The timely completion of this project was a great success that will be enjoyed by many generations. 2002 - 2008
Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) works tirelessly to ensure all young people in our community can realize their full potential with a wide range of educational, social, cultural and recreational programs. Beginning as an Annual Fund Officer, reporting to the Vice President of Development, I managed all aspects of the annual giving program, including individual solicitations, direct mail, development of appeal letters and marketing materials. Overseeing the BGCB Board Development Committee and staffing the Development Chair, was also part of my role. Collaborating with Events and Grants teams to determine solicitation strategies, I created a donor cultivation program, developed and implemented events for the cultivation and solicitation of new donors, managed a team of 15 volunteer solicitors, and crafted a donor recognition program and “Thank-a-thon”. I also led roundtable discussions on fundraising at the Association of Fundraising Professionals annual conference. In addition, I led improvements in Data Systems and Reporting, which included: ● Creating new financial report tools to improve efficiency between Development and Accounting teams. ● Creating financial reports and systems to communicate real-time financials. ● Guiding the organization's use of Raisers Edge database and Crystal Reports to maximize tracking and reporting capacity, account reconciliation, data entry, donor management and prospecting. As Manager of Development Operations, I oversaw gift processing and donor acknowledgement process and analyzed accounting reports daily to track multiple campaigns. Developing and implementing online solutions for the integration of donations, event registration, e-newsletter subscriptions and email communications with the database was also a part of this role.
