My role involves but is not limited to developing and delivering arts projects across the island, supporting the development of the existing arts groups on the island, promoting and touring professional theatre to the island, working with the community to understand what they need in their communities, and planning future events which expand and develop Arran's art scene and further it's connection to the mainland. Arran Theatre and Arts Trust is an umbrella organisation whose aim, in partnership with other organisations on the island, are to foster visual, literary and performing arts on Arran, to further opportunities for professionals in the arts, create experiences which raise skills and awareness and improve access at community level, develop opportunities for young people and encourage new work both on Arran and beyond through the annual McLellan Poetry Award and the McLellan Arts Festival.

UZ Arts is a Scottish charity that develops, commissions, produces and distributes the work of artists in all forms. (www.uzarts.com) I started here in 2012 as an Office Intern and through the years have progressed to my current role. I engaged with all elements of the development and delivery of small to large-scale events and festivals, which focused on bringing new, multi art-form art to new audiences. My roles included, but were not limited to:• General project administration, detailed research and development, writing and updating company policies and budget management;• Artist liaison, managing relationships with council and organisational partners, volunteer and intern recruitment, training and management, facilitating and supporting community engagement projects;• Social media content management, project marketing, co-ordinating and processing audience and partner feedback to aid future development, travel and accommodation arrangements, scheduling;• General organisation of the company and on-site offices, ordering of admin and event supplies, writing and evaluating Risk Assessments and site Health and Safety. Projects include: Galoshans Festival 2016; Galoshans Festival 2015; HOME The International Launch of the Kelpies 2014; John Muir Festival 2014; Helix Day, 2013; The People’s Tower 2013 - 2016; Burn’s an’ a’ That Festival 2012; Sura Medura Artist Residency, Sri Lanka 2012 – 2017.

Responsible for managing the various elements of SURGE's programme; • Surge's quarterly scratch events at the Briggait and the CCA in Glasgow, working to support, manage and coordinate emerging artists to perform excerpts of new pieces in development; • Various training workshops and artist residency programmes, as main artist contact, securing and liaising with venues and ensuring all relevant structures in place; • Promoting, co-ordinating and managing the Community Street Theatre Tours, working with different venues and festivals across the country to engage community groups in Street Theatre workshops and performances; • Managing SURGE Festival 2015 and 2016, part of Merchant City Festival, which involves large budget management, managing artists, overseeing delivery and support for all production elements, liaising closely with partners at Glasgow Life and Merchant City Festival, Festival staff management, as well as all other management elements commensurate to festival management; • Also organisation Green Champion, and in being so research and implement green policies.

Project Assistant for PERCH - A festival of flying and falling in July 2014, which was a highlight of the Commonwealth Games Culture 2014 programme. I provided administrative support throughout, managed community performer travel reimbursements, liaised with artists, supported Stage Management by ensuring show props were organised and in place and was volunteer recruiter, trainer and co-ordinator. During performance times I was at Front of House, helping co-ordinate the smooth running of the box office/site entrance, overseeing volunteers in all positions and assisting with the de-rig. Volunteer Co-ordinator for Surge Festival 2014 - part of the Merchant City Festival and Commonwealth Games Culture 2014 programme. As well as providing administrative support throughout, I was volunteer co-ordinator, responsible for their recruitment, training, and co-ordinating their shifts over a 12 day programme. As part of my role I undertook the management of site cash, was responsible for managing travel reimbursements, artist liaising, rota management and assisted with artist set up where necessary.

Freelance work, editing submissions for a book of short stories by amateur writers. Was required to be mindful of house style throughout. Deadlines meant we had a large influx of stories and had to edit large quantities in tight timescales, this required precision and speed under pressure.
