Daniel Okwufulueze
Empathy - the strongest of the many endearing qualities I remember Ralf for - he truly listens and understands. I had the pleasure of working with Ralf in what I can only describe as one of the most exciting periods of my career. It was an experience of real learning and growth. There was always something to learn from Ralf about being a better people-person, about keeping the team highly motivated and focused, about calmness and grace, about product quality and security consciousness - it was indeed one of the most exciting periods of my career, and I remain thankful for the honour. While I'll be happy to jump on an opportunity to work together again, Ralf has my highest recommendation as a great manager within any organisation - people would be lucky to have him as their manager.

I have known Ralf since 2001 when he joined my team as Manager for Back Office IP/Admin. In this role he was responsible for the operation of all mobile data networks, security infrastructure, and support systems. Ralf utilised his extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux systems, databases, IP network protocols, and open source software to master the challenges of modern telecommunications networks. In addition, he developed the ability to sense intuitively upcoming developments and incorporate these into the overall strategy of our department. In 2003, he assumed responsibility of o2’s technical customer support unit in Nuremberg. By defining and executing a clear strategy, Ralf was able to meet the demands of rapid customer growth from 7m to 17m by continually optimizing relevant processes and the development of support systems. In addition to this efficiency gain, he significantly facilitated real gains in o2’s customer satisfaction index by fostering customer communication. Ralf’s excellent communication and motivation skills helped him to achieve outstanding results, even in times of corporate restructuring and layoffs. He is a highly motivated and committed leader, with a well developed sense of loyalty to his company and employees. I have greatly appreciated working with him.
