Chris leads by example. His hands on approach to management creates an environment where his wealth of experience in assessing growth challenges becomes accessible to all levels of the organization. I have worked with Chris for nearly a year now, and value his insight into the variety of technological and client facing issues that our organization tackles on a daily basis. Our organization has seen phenomenal growth over the past two years, in large part due to Chris’s ability to identify economic trends and behavioral tendencies that remain prevalent in his focused consumer demographic. His initiative and cross-channel expertise has been a primary driver of the Institute for Professional Education’s growth. It is a rare combination when a leader possesses an operations mindset, combined with both a revenue and budget conscious strategy. It is even rarer when this skill set is met with the inherent gift to mentor. He identifies the potential in those he works with, and fosters it, encouraging every individual he works with to contribute to his growth-centric plan.

Chris is an expert at online customer acquisition, advertising, SEM and business model development. He knows how to develop a profitable online marketing strategy and doesn’t give up until goals are met. I highly recommend Chris for any marketing challenge and look forward to the opportunity to work with him again.

The Institute for Professional Care Education (IPCed) provides state-approved online training for senior care providers. Figuring out the right way to grow this business was really tricky. It took 6 months to identify the fastest path to revenue growth. Each month we would do several online and in-person classes for owners of senior care homes, usually in conjunction with the state's healthcare association. Senior care home owners have continuing education requirements to keep their license, plus they generally like to learn, so it was easy to get attendees. Every month we sent 80,000 postcards promoting the online and in-person classes. Thousands would signup and attend. At the end of class, a salesperson would do a demo of our online training subscription. Around 4% of the attendees signed up for our subscription product. Over the next two weeks, the sales team would call those who didn't buy to find out why. Around 1/3rd of the prospects called would eventually buy. They often had unanswered questions or weren't ready to signup immediately (which is the case for the majority of buyers in any industry). The business grew from $2M/year to $10M/year in 3 years. Strong organic growth enabled us to purchase a competitor and double market share overnight. To support growth I had to build a 20 person inside sales team and a 5 person marketing team. I recruited most of them and had so much fun building this business. It was an amazing experience to mentor several up-and-coming professionals who have gone on to become accomplished sales executives and business leaders (you know who you are). It got pretty crazy when we were hiring 8-10 new people every month. Still, good times. The company was sold to OnCourse Learning Q3 2016 for $30M. Show less

When I do consulting work, I do it under the brand eHotLeads. I create paid media marketing campaigns to get new customers for my clients. I work with your team to install this formula in your business: Profitable Customer Acquisition + Strong Repeat Sales = Predictable Growth I'll help your team figure out how to get new customers from the internet and social media. This will result in predictable growth. When I do consulting work, I do it under the brand eHotLeads. I create paid media marketing campaigns to get new customers for my clients. Grand European Tours (GET) sells vacation packages to Europe. I went to work for GET to learn direct response marketing from two industry leaders. The CEO and VP generated hundreds of millions for Hanna Andersson, Pizza Hut, and Hollywood Video using direct response marketing in the 90s. Now they were building a travel brand. They mailed 1 million catalogs every 6 weeks. Prospects and past customers would get a catalog, read about vacation packages, and call to book. I was hired to figure out how to make eCommerce work for their business. The challenge was to create an internet version of the catalog sales experience. Instead of sending catalogs, we would buy clicks from Google and show an online version of the catalog. This sounds basic now but in 2009 this was cutting-edge. They gave me $30,000/month to spend on Google Ads and challenged me to deliver 10X in revenue. I was able to create an online sales system that generated thousands of leads every month and increased sales by $3 million the first year, a great success! Now here's the interesting part.... at the time most customers felt uncomfortable purchasing 100% online. They always wanted to talk to someone and pay over the phone. So we had 20 people to answer questions and take credit card payments. Several sales reps would close 20 or 40 thousand dollars a day. I had never thought it was possible for a salesperson to do $40K a day in sales. I had to know more. I became friends with the sales manager and learned what makes a phone salesperson good and how to run a team. Through this experience, I realized that if you can generate lots of leads and work with your team to close well, you can grow a company very very fast. Show less
