As one progresses through the span of a career, from time to time you encounter those rare individuals that contribute such a positive impact they stand out in your own career experience - those individuals that, through their own excellence, enriched your own career, making a lasting, positive impact. Ed is one of those rare people with whom I've been so fortunate to work with over these last few years. Ed has mastered that rare combination of gifts: the ability to 'translate' the technicalities of Cloud Product Management in to a meaningful conversation with customers - both internal and external to the organization. Always approachable, Ed 'gets it' when it comes to nuanced or challenging concepts both in her ability to synthesize as well as disseminate and is one of those fortunate few that can bring to bear both the technical and personal with ease in building and managing a high-performing Product Management team delivering highly effective solutions.

In a world where it is difficult to stand out from the crowd, Ed towers above her peers on two levels. Initially, it is her infectious personality, where her humour and charm make every interaction a joy. In parallel, her empathy, ability to listen and strong human qualities means she engages on a personal level, engaging way beyond a ‘sales’ person, to fully understand you as a person/business and the challenges you face. Her second strength is her experience and tenacity to focus on the challenge and bring to the table solutions and outcomes. She does not recommend the latest flavour of product to hit her quota; as far away from that as possible. Having understood what it is you want to achieve; thought about it; engaged her team around her; and imparted her long enterprise and mid-market experience to the challenge; she is able to intelligently present real solutions which make a difference. She will also then work alongside you to engage and embrace stakeholder views to tune her approach to exactly the right fit. Her hard work and fabulous personality are what makes her a success. I recommend Ed is every way possible.

My role at Star helped companies makes sense of Cloud Computing, giving users access to the computing they need at anytime from anywhere. Helping them identify and make the best use of resources, to move from fixed to variable IT costs, to enable agaility, flexibility and transformation. This was achieved by designing, buidling, deploying and running private cloud solutions from the Star DC through 2 core capabilities. Cloud Strategy: Firstly, define where and how cloud can play a role. Using a methodology which defines the "as is" environment and gain an understanding of "both" the technical and business objectives and drivers. This piece of work creates the platform to build a cloud roadmap which will define appropriate services for the customer, and when to deploy them whilst factoring in "risk reduction". This strategic work is best suited to those organisations who already recognise the value of cloud. Cloud Solutions Delivery and Capabilty: Once we have successfully demonstrated the value of cloud and the customers recognises it, this is where Star can really add value to the business. A broad range of solutions such as Managed Hosting, Unfied Comms, Voip, Hosted Exchange, Cloud Apps and Storage are all built into the Star DC deliverable as pay per user per month. Whether its SaaS, IaaS, or Paas Star can accomdate and as a former ISP designing and deploying an appropriate WAN to support your business and journey to the cloud is standard. Show less
