- Innovative, intelligent, problem solver, and can code around almost anything. - Writes minor utility programs in his spare time for fun, and to minimize time and effort, not spent directly on his task(s). - Learns quickly, and adapts to workflow quickly. - Good nature, easy to get along with. - willing to share tasks with co-workers. - Noted interest in the entire field of Information Technology.

Having supervised and directed Edwin for a few co-op terms and a number of projects I can say with certainty that he's a talented developer. His strengths are in program design and UI design and will surprise you with his output under pressure. He has developed some very important systems that are used all over the corporation and internationally and has tackled every problem with enthusiasm and vigor even when the problem was outside his existing skill set. If you need a solid and flexible developer with a mind to match I can easily suggest Edwin for the task.

I helped people use our software and provided feedback for software features and issues for the core developers. Once support was done for the day, I developed some internal tools and applied my experience to certain features. I've moved around due to some restructuring over the past months, and have done a large number of small to medium sized projects. - Designed and implemented Deadline's slave auto-configuration feature - Rebuilt the trouble ticket system from scratch for all global offices (Python, SQLAlchemy, XHTML, JavaScript, jQuery Framework) - Extended a fun chatbot/online presence detection system for Jabber for use in web pages (Python, JavaScript) - Built a render farm screen monitor tool… Show more I've moved around due to some restructuring over the past months, and have done a large number of small to medium sized projects. - Designed and implemented Deadline's slave auto-configuration feature - Rebuilt the trouble ticket system from scratch for all global offices (Python, SQLAlchemy, XHTML, JavaScript, jQuery Framework) - Extended a fun chatbot/online presence detection system for Jabber for use in web pages (Python, JavaScript) - Built a render farm screen monitor tool (Bash Script, Perl, PHP, XHTML) - Built a storage farm monitor tool (Bash Script, PHP, XHTML) Show less I've moved around due to some restructuring over the past months, and have done a large number of small to medium sized projects. - Designed and implemented Deadline's slave auto-configuration feature - Rebuilt the trouble ticket system from scratch for all global offices (Python, SQLAlchemy, XHTML, JavaScript, jQuery Framework) - Extended a fun chatbot/online presence detection system for Jabber for use in web pages (Python, JavaScript) - Built a render farm screen monitor tool (Bash Script, Perl, PHP, XHTML) - Built a storage farm monitor tool (Bash Script, PHP, XHTML) Show less

I was responsible for software developed within the IT department. Both code review and project development were overseen by myself, while project requirements and stern looks were given by Sean Cody. While at the height of my tyrannical reign, I was supervising our IT co-op student Mike as well as mentoring our part-time sysadmin and software developer Rob through his software projects. Rob was a pretty good programmer already though.

Started at Prime Focus as a wee little co-op under the tutelage of Sean Cody and Rob Guderian. I wrote some stuff from scratch, but a really large part of what I did was fix bugs in the (at the time) current ticket system and add features here and there. Ticket System: Internal software we used to track problems across North American offices. At the time I was working on it, there were four departments using this tool. Ticket System: Internal software we used to track problems across North American offices. At the time I was working on it, there were four departments using this tool. Notable add-ons by myself: E-Mail auto complete from LDAP lookups File uploads (for screen shots and the like) Tools Used: JavaScript Python PHP MySQL FreeBSD/Solaris ConfVersion: This was a script to automate backing up and versioning configuration files on all of our major North American servers. It uses Subversion as the backend to do all the real thinking. This tool wraps it up and includes and handy installer/uninstaller, cron job for daily backup, and a commit script to log who did what. Tools Used: Subversion Bash Scripting FreeBSD/OpenBSD/Linux/Solaris TunnelRunner This is a handy (and BSD licensed!) tool for keeping auth-pf sessions open to our firewall. It's proven to be extremely robust and well liked in the company. Go figure. If you want to take it for a spin and have an SSH login account somehwere, download it here: http://code.google.com/p/tunnelrunner/ Tools Used: Visual Studio 2005/2008 (C# Specifically) Putty's plink command line tool Paint .net OpenBSD

I designed the Rural Water Management Project website and tools along with Richie Aquino who helped tremendously with the look and feel of the site. Much to my surprise this project I started is still being worked on and developed. The main technologies used were Java Server Pages with Java Server Faces framework and some advanced servlet design to output dynamic PDF and graph data. Had lots of fun designing this one, as well as lots of frustration. The mark of a good project. :D I designed the Rural Water Management Project website and tools along with Richie Aquino who helped tremendously with the look and feel of the site.
