Laura Leslie
Ed worked as a researcher in our Biomedical Engineering team for a Summer. He was a real asset to the project. He was enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable. I was really impressed with Eds ambition to not only enhance his current skills, but also to tackle new probelms and learn new approaches. The results from this work were presented at a national conference.
Gregory McDonald
Ed worked for us at Stique during his placement year at Aston Uni. He was the first intern we had taken on, and our first full-time, in-house product designer. As a result of taking Ed on, Stique was catapulted forward in terms of new product design, including all the associated work involved with packaging etc. Ed did a tremendous job for us. We would have hung on to him had he not had to return to uni to complete his studies. His energy, enthusiasm, insight and skills were transformative for our business, which has progressed in leaps and bounds as a direct result of Ed's input and outputs.

Goodfish ® is a plastic injection-moulding company based in the Midlands. I learnt the process and design techniques for plastic injection moulding; completing a two day course at G&A moulding technology, learning about plastic characteristics and design application. I developed this further with experienced tool designer David Bebbington. Goodfish ® is a plastic injection-moulding company based in the Midlands. Bang & Olufsen is an international design icon and global symbol of audio-visual excellence. Products produced are both for the home and high-end car industry. I worked alongside the European customer experience manager contributing to the redesign of the B&O play sections within both Harrods and Selfridges concessions and the flagship stores in Knightsbridge and Oxford. · Produced the visualisations for the approval by the Harrods board. · Designed, manufactured and sold 12 secure Ipad holders to be used in the stores. · Created all the technical drawings to be used to CNC all major parts of the project. These stores were used as trials before being rolled out globally.

This was part of the management team at an international clothing company store in the center of Birmingham, which had a turnover of £3.5million+ a year. I organised and motivated the team to achieve high levels of customer service and to maximise sales. I produced end of week reports for the area managers and directors, completed store expense forms, ordered supplies and carried out money mapping. The experience was maximised during the summer when I worked 40-hour weeks. In the summer of 2013 I worked with biomedical engineer Dr Laura Leslie and two surgeons from the Queen Elizabeth. Main goal was to help design and test medical screws for people suffering with osteoporosis. Taking the surgeons concepts I 3D modeled each screw, 3D printed each prototype and tested the pull out strength in artificial bone (sawbone). This proved very successful and from this work the university gained funding for a new piece of testing equipment.
