Much of my work at Teddington has been supporting legacy firmware that ranges from a remote control to a hydrogen fire system to a heat meter monitor system which were programmed in objective C, C++ and C#.Other legacy systems needed obsolescence support, which could require anything from sourcing new components that would act as a drop-in replacement to redesigning 2-layer PCBs with more modern components. This was usually for MOD systems that have been in use for decade although one client specifically requested a schematic and PCB capture of an obsolete product that they needed for their own product. Another duty that gained more prominence was liaising with the production department in a manner of different ways, ranging from performing production testing in order to understand the production process, to updating existing production test documents to helping test engineers troubleshoot production issues.Projects for new products that were developed by the department that I worked on include a smart monitor capable of taking readings from multiple meters and meter types that would use mesh networking to communicate with a server located in the cloud.

Shift managers lead shifts every week, making sure customers get a fast, accurate, friendly experience every visit by providing leadership to crew and other managers during a shift. As a shift manager, I was responsible for health and safety, security, training, food safety, inventory control, documentation, customer service and cash handling. As part of food safety, I was also responsible for calibrating equipment. A retail job that required supervising other people to enact the licensing law, ensure that staff were applying good customer service and had good cash-control. Another part of this job was ensuring that stock was sufficient to meet the needs of the store. When there were no managers present, I would be in charge of the store. A retail job with a great deal of independence and trust as for most shifts, only I would be present. As with all retail jobs, cash handling and customer service were essential with being aware of and enacting the licencing laws also being needed.
