      Spent 6 months developing, implementing and testing a novel autonomous obstacle avoidance algorithm for a fixed wing UAS. Using the ArduPilot flight control software in conjunction with DroneKit Python API, to perform software in the loop (SITL) simulations of an obstacle avoidance algorithm on a fixed wing. This was then implemented on an E-flite Apprentice S 15e RC aircraft, which was fitted with a NAVIO2 and subsequently performed successful real world avoidance maneuvers of virtual objects.
