More senior leadership teams / C-suites need people like Ed. I had the pleasure of working with him for around six years. During that time the business, our roles (and the world!) went through some huge changes, and Ed was always a strong and calming presence. He has a a rare combination of qualities that make him exceptional. He is analytical and scientific, yet incredibly aware of the importance of intentional communication and careful use of language. He can set direction and make difficult decisions whilst being empathetic to those who need to follow that direction. His presence and actions forged a strong connection between C-suite and the rest of the business, helping teams stay engaged and motivated even through extreme levels of change. Ed had company-wide influence, even earlier on in his journey with Brandwatch. People who didn't need to work closely with him sought him out for advice and mentoring. His business-wide presence, business-first approach, and natural tendency to forge cross-departmental decision making made the Chief Strategy Officer role a natural step. I know we always say this, but I really, really hope I get to work with Ed again.
