    • Powertrain Engineer - UIM Class 1 Powerboat School Project
      • Jan 2016 - Mar 2016

I worked alongside 6 other team members to design a concept powertrain for a Powerboat competing in the Formula 1 Powerboat World Championship. This included firstly working under budget constraints, choosing an engine, propeller, and shaft, which meet the regulations, as well as designing a Catmaran body, an electric power supply, and a transmission. After calculating the forces acting on the powerboat and looking at the necessary performance figures, I gave the team the parameters they would need to choose the appropriate components for high speed aquatic racing. I also custom designed the entire battery package (including cooling) and was able to bring the cost down to half the suppliers' asking price.
