The company facilitates public transportation through 88 private bus firms to all destinations in Ecuador. During 2019, 25 million travelers were transported out of Guayaquil. In addition, 30 million persons visited the shopping mall and the cargo terminal. Terminal Terrestre de Guayaquil is the largest interstate bus terminal and mall of Latin America. I am responsible for the formulation of the business strategy and strategic plan. Supervision of business and administrative areas such as: Legal, Compliance, Human resource, Finance-accounting and Environment, the Bus Terminal, and Shopping Mall business units. Total number of employees is 335. My objectives for the period 2009-2019 were: • Implementation of financial reengineering using International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). It improved cash flow from 0.5 to US$ 12M and from 2017-2019, cash flow rose 99% from 6M to US$ 11.9M due to sale of commercial space at the mall. • The Net Surplus increased by US$ 4.9M in the period. • We managed to increase the net income from 9.8M to US$ 19.6M. • Net worth increased from 1.6M to US$ 57.8M. • Revenues from the mall business unit increased 100% from 4.1M to US$8M. The main objective in 2020 was to keep the business afloat protecting the cash position, our client´s businesses and about 10.000 people´s indirect employment within the system. We were closed for 4 months and income dropped about 50%. In spite of this, we kept a healthy cash position and as a result, in 2021, we will start the construction of the second satellite bus terminal to serve transportation needs for northwest destinations.
