      The Gang Information Coordinator (GIC) is responsible for maintaining a repository of information relating to gang activity within the institutional setting. This information will include updating current Ward gang files, and creating new files for youth who have become involved in gang related activities. The GIC provides intelligence to protect wards and employees within the institutional setting. This information includes understanding and reporting on group dynamics that might destabilize the peace with any area of the institution (Unit, School, Gym, and Maintenance). The GIC provides training on Safety, Security and the recognition of Group Gang Dynamics. The GIC studies the relationship of institutional gang dynamics and how it affects community crime and the reverse. The GIC is responsible to train and supervise Youth Counselors, Security Personnel, and Tactical Team Members to work collaboratively to study gang trends and suppress gang violence within the institution. In addition the GIC will train ancillary personnel (Medical, Administrative, Educational) and the community about gang issues and trends.
