Served two-terms as a Neighborhood Council Budget Advocate, part of an elected, city-wide, cohort that advises the Mayor and City Council on the City's budget. I represented the North Valley Neighborhood Councils (Arleta, Chatsworth, Foothill Trails, Grenada Hills North, Grenada Hills South, Mission Hills, North Hills East, North Hills West, Northridge East, Northridge West, Pacoima, Porter Ranch, Sunland-Tujunga (my neighborhood council), and Sylmar). In addition, as a Neighborhood Council Budget Advocate, I served as the Chair for the Pension Plan and Health Care Committee. This committee, on behalf of Neighborhood Councils was tasked with providing proposals to reduce the city’s deficit and pension fund liability. I had the honor to make oral and written presentations concerning Los Angeles budget issues to the Mayor, City Council and various stakeholder groups throughout our city. Show less
