I led the operations of facilities and infrastructure for training which employs 2,500 Special Operations staff across 55 buildings located on 500 acres, and collaborate with contractors, civil leadership, and intergovernmental agencies while delivering these notable outcomes:» Planned and developed facilities and infrastructure, and forecast funding needs to support future growth which will play a key role in achieving operational objectives over the next 10 to 15 years.» Managed resources, and planned single facility for fitness, physical therapy, behavioral health and spiritual well-being resulting in the best Special Operations Human Performance Program within Army Special Operations.» Set up shuttle service to and from local shopping and dining, secured extra food vendors for facility, and maximized maintenance of dormitory buildings which boosted performance of most junior service members and optimized living conditions for +/-300 staff with permanent residence.

COMMANDER, SPECIAL OPERATIONS TRAINING DETACHMENT

I was accountable for all Special Operations functions, managed $15.5M budget, leveraged funding sources, drove the strategic outlook across Combat Training Centers, facilitated training in local communities and installations, and achieved these outstanding accomplishments:» Drove activities for Special Operations, trained and mentored staff, monitored and assessed performance, and guided and advised training forces all of which strengthened skills and prepared training forces for global conflict.» Introduced 18 large-scale Special Operations training events in Louisiana and California in 12 months, and established long-term development strategy to ensure training scenarios were up-to-date, replicated real-world events, and anticipated future requirements all of which resulted in premier training environments.

COMMANDER, SPECIAL FORCES BATTALION

• 2016 - 2018

I managed $2M budget and operations across 11 countries and 3 continents, led strategic vision of Special Forces Battalion, and contributed these key results: » Hired and trained 550-member Special Operations Task Force resulting in top performing Special Forces Battalion able to deploy and execute tasks at a moment’s notice anywhere in the world.» Collaborated with international, interagency and Department of Defense organizations, built and deployed force, and planned and employed forces and resources from across the Middle East resulting in the development of a joint, international Special Operations Headquarters to manage Special Operations in Iraq and Syria.» Served as key Senior Special Operation representative and met with foreign stakeholders in Jordan and Austria to negotiate de-confliction of operations which in turn enhanced international de-confliction in Syria.» Oversaw resources, and forecast logistical needs which led to the liberation of ISIS capital, Raqqa, Syria.

CHIEF OF STAFF, DEPUTY DIRECTORATE SPECIAL OPERATIONS

I provided oversight of 44 staff members providing Joint Chiefs of Staff with top military advice pertaining to Special Operations, managed the director’s schedule, and the organization’s products and briefings, strove to meet organizational objectives, and accomplished the following excellent outcome:» Was selected out of 30 high-performing Special Operations officers to provide expert military advice on Special Operations which in turn improved decision making at both national and strategic levels for two-star Joint Staff Director.

SYRIA-IRAQ DESK OFFICER, DEPUTY DIRECTORATE SPECIAL OPERATIONS

• 2013 - 2015

I provided the Chairman and Joint Chiefs of Staff with sound advice on Special Operations in both Syria and Iraq, briefed Congressional leaders and staffs on operations and events, and generated these significant contributions:» Monitored operations, briefed Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, gained approval of operation from Secretary of Defense, Ash Carter, and presented details of operations to closed session of Congress and individually to Speaker of the House, John Boehner which in turn strengthened outcomes of the first raid into Syria.» Cultivated strong and loyal relationships with stakeholders within the Department of Defense and interagency which led to a shared understanding of issues.
