The Centre for Success Learning Camp was delivered virtually by an interdisciplinary team of educators. The Learning Camp focused on having students with Learning Disabilities use technology as an essential accommodation to access the Ontario Curriculum. As a teacher in this role, I was responsible for teaching the Ontario Grade 8 Curriculum in a virtual environment. I utilized Brightspace by D2L and Microsoft Teams to offer a variety of synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities for students. Additionally, I reviewed and updated student IEPs to ensure students with learning disabilities had appropriate accommodations and modifications to be academically successful in the virtual class. I also collaborated with ESL teachers to ensure ELL learners had appropriate accommodations and support. Lastly, I collaborated with a Student Success Teacher to support secondary transitions and ensure students were enrolled in the appropriate courses in Xello.
