The skills required include an artistic eye, weeding, assembly, packaging, measuring, organization, strategic and communication skills. Aide
-
Sep 2015 - Jun 2016
My main focus while working at York Elementary School is to aide two of the school’s kindergarten students who moved to the country this year. My responsibilities are to help them adjust to the cultural and behavioral differences by translating their native language (Swahili) for them when needed, explaining new concepts to them, introducing them to new things daily, all while working alongside them in the classroom. In addition, I am assisting the teacher with the other two ESL students in the classroom and, as needed, with classroom activities, lessons and other students. Show less
