Support Team Leader
-
Feb 2020 - Nov 2020
AmeriCorps NCCC is a ten-month, team based, national residential service program. As a Support Team Leader, I assisted program staff with preparing for and executing operations and trainings, managed the mail system for the North Central region of AmeriCorps, responded to health issues of members through daily health checks and trips to the clinic, and ensured team leaders and staff had all needed resources and assistance. One major accomplishment I had while in this position was independently leading the return of luggage through UPS for over 100 members working remotely or who resigned during the COVID-19 pandemic. One of my favorite experiences was working with the National Park Service in Pennsylvania and assisting in salamander surveys as part of the organization’s process of measuring the health of the local ecosystem. An experience of growth for me, especially in my leadership skills, was leading a team in Flint, MI working with Habitat for Humanity. Show less

Doggie Day Care Attendant
-
May 2019 - Sep 2019
At Diamond Dogs in the Ruff, I worked with Jason, the owner of the business, to ensure dogs had a safe, fulfilling experience at the daycare. As the only staff member, Jason would take half the pack and leave me with the other half. I would monitor the health and wellbeing of each dog on hot summer days while encouraging play and interaction between the dogs. This meant always making sure water buckets were full and cold, watching the body language of dogs for early signs of distress or overheating, taking dogs on leashed walks, using treats as positive reenforcement of wanted behaviors, training dogs with basic commands like come, sit, stay, shake, etc., and occasionally hopping in the pool with the pack! Dog Trainer, Walker, Sitter
-
2014 - 2019
I started walking neighbors' dogs in eighth grade. In high school, I added training and dog-sitting. I used positive reenforcement to pull out desired behaviors and engage dogs and exercise to bring dogs to a point of focus and calm. I regularly trained, walked, or dog-sat for over ten clients before leaving the state to work with AmeriCorps. I started walking neighbors' dogs in eighth grade.
